2018/19 Programme

Here is our programme of meetings for 2018/19. Please note that all meetings take place at 7:30pm on the third Thursday of the month at the Community Centre, Station Road, Middleton St George, DL21JG.

20 September 2018 – Alan Pallister: “Historic Sadberge”, followed by short AGM

18 October – Alistair Fraser: “18th Durham Light Infantry.  The archaeology of their training camps, and a look at the battalion in 1918 in the lead up to victory in the 100 Days Campaign”

15 November – Tony Nicholson: “Hobby Horses, some tales from a northern Hell Fire Club”

20 December – Christmas Party

17 January 2019 – Alison Hodgson: “Sedgefield in Victorian Times”

21 February – Norma Neal and Haydn Neal: “Wynyard Hall, the history of a great house”

21 March – Margaret Hedley: “Hannah’s story.  The story of Margaret’s grandmother’s life”

18 April – Niall Hammond: “The 1825 Stockton and Darlington Railway – better than the first? Work in progress for the bicentenary in 2025”

16 May – A walk around Sedgefield with Alison Hodgson – details to be confirmed

20 June – A walk around a site of local historical interest – details to be confirmed
